Portraits have been a priority, probably because once one starts a theme there is so much to learn before moving to another theme. The Verdacchio girl was one of my first attemts at portrait paining and I was so pleased I kept painting portraits in various styles. The Verdacchio process is so long that I moved onto more abstract versions of portrtaits as they were quicker to do and easier to start when one was returning from consulting trips in Asia. And copying Klint's Portrait of Adele Bloch-Bauer I using gold leaf was fun.
